Twin AS 2 battery system

The GTA 30 uses two STIHL AS 2 batteries at the same time. Both batteries are fitted to the rear of the handle and discharged in parallel while the machine is operating.

The pruner will not start with only one battery installed.

RightTight tool-free chain tensioning

The STIHL RightTight system allows the chain to be tensioned without a separate spanner or screwdriver.

A fold-out handle on the sprocket cover opens the mechanism. Closing and securing the cover activates the spring-loaded system and applies the intended chain tension.

Chain tension should still be checked before use and at appropriate intervals while working.

Manual chain lubrication

A 50ml bottle of STIHL Multioil Bio is included with the set. Check the chain frequently and lubricate it according to the STIHL operating instructions.

Flexible protective hood

A flexible protective hood covers the upper section of the cutting attachment. It moves upwards as the chain enters the material, helping reduce the likelihood of accidental contact with the upper chain.

The asymmetrical hood can be moved through approximately 90 degrees where access to more of the guide-bar length is required.

The hood does not eliminate the danger presented by the moving saw chain. The GTA 30 must still be held correctly with two hands and used in accordance with the operating manual.

Designed for two-handed control

The GTA 30 has a rubberised main control handle and a separate upper grip.

During use:

• Keep the other hand on the upper grip
