Description

The STIHL SGA 60 cordless backpack sprayer removes the repeated pumping required by a traditional pressure sprayer. Its electric pump maintains consistent pressure while you work, helping you apply suitable plant-care products, liquid fertilisers, approved herbicides and other plant-protection treatments accurately and comfortably.

With a 15-litre tank, five interchangeable nozzles and an adjustable backpack carrying system, the SGA 60 is particularly well suited to larger private gardens, allotments, orchards, vegetable-growing areas, small nurseries and regular semi-professional work.

Please note: this is a tool-only machine. A compatible STIHL AK System battery and STIHL battery charger are not included and must be purchased separately unless you already own suitable AK System equipment.

Why choose the STIHL SGA 60 cordless sprayer?

Battery-powered spraying without manual pumping

The SGA 60 uses a battery-powered diaphragm pump to generate and maintain spraying pressure. Once the machine is switched on, you can concentrate on controlling the lance and spray pattern rather than repeatedly stopping to pressurise the tank by hand.

STIHL CONSTANT POWER technology helps the machine maintain consistent performance as the battery discharges, supporting even application from the beginning of the job to the end.

Large 15-litre transparent tank

The 15-litre capacity reduces the number of refills required when treating larger gardens, lawns, orchards or cultivated areas. The transparent container and visible fill level make it easier to monitor the remaining liquid.

A large filler opening with a strainer helps stop dirt and larger particles from entering the tank. An additional filter inside the container helps prevent undissolved particles from reaching the pump.

Five nozzles for different spraying jobs

The STIHL SGA 60 is supplied with five different nozzles, allowing the output and spray pattern to be matched more closely to the area being treated.

  • Single nozzle: general spraying in small and medium-sized areas
  • Double nozzle: faster treatment of wider areas such as lawns
  • Quadruple nozzle: intensive application across very large areas
  • Fan-jet nozzle: controlled spraying along borders, hedges and pathways
  • Adjustable nozzle: variable spray patterns for shrubs, trees and mixed tasks

A nozzle adapter is also supplied for use with compatible optional STIHL sprayer attachments.

Adjustable pressure for more controlled application

The operating pressure can be adjusted to suit the nozzle, liquid and spraying task. This makes it easier to apply a controlled amount of liquid rather than using the same output for every job.

Comfortable backpack carrying system

The individually adjustable carrying system distributes the machine across the user’s back and shoulders. A padded back support improves comfort during longer jobs, while the integrated lance holder provides secure storage when moving or transporting the sprayer.

Protected for outdoor work

The battery compartment is protected against water, liquid and dust. The SGA 60 is IPX4 rated, providing splash-water protection for normal outdoor working conditions.

Who is the STIHL SGA 60 best for?

The SGA 60 is a strong choice for customers who need to:

  • Treat larger gardens, allotments, orchards or vegetable-growing areas
  • Spray regularly without the effort of manual pumping
  • Apply suitable liquid fertilisers and approved plant-protection treatments
  • Change between narrow, wide and adjustable spray patterns
  • Work for longer periods with a high-capacity backpack tank
  • Use an existing STIHL AK System battery across several garden tools

For smaller gardens and more concentrated work, the compact STIHL SGA 30 cordless sprayer may be easier to handle. You can also compare manual and battery-powered options in our complete garden sprayer range.

STIHL SGA 30, SGA 60 or SGA 85?

Choose the STIHL SGA 30 for smaller and medium-sized domestic gardens where a compact five-litre sprayer is sufficient. It is supplied as a complete set with an AS 2 battery and AL 1 charger.

Choose the STIHL SGA 60 when you need a substantially larger 15-litre backpack tank, longer working periods and a wider choice of nozzles for large domestic or semi-professional jobs.

For regular professional work requiring greater output and a professional AP System power platform, consider the STIHL SGA 85 cordless sprayer.

Why Masseys recommends the STIHL SGA 60

Masseys recommends the STIHL SGA 60 to gardeners, allotment holders and semi-professional users who regularly work with a backpack sprayer and want to eliminate the effort and interruption of manual pumping.

The combination of a 15-litre tank and five nozzles is its main advantage. It can cover substantially more ground than the compact SGA 30, but it remains within STIHL’s domestic AK battery platform rather than requiring a professional AP battery.

For most SGA 60 users, the recommended AK 10 is a sensible battery because the sprayer has comparatively modest energy requirements. Customers who already own another compatible AK battery can also use that battery, making the SGA 60 an economical addition to an existing cordless collection.

Frequently asked questions

Does the STIHL SGA 60 include a battery and charger?

No. The SGA 60 is supplied as a tool-only machine. You will need a compatible STIHL AK System battery and charger unless you already own them.

Which battery is recommended for the STIHL SGA 60?

STIHL recommends the AK 10 battery. It is the lightest battery in the AK System and provides up to approximately 270 minutes of working time under suitable conditions.

Can other STIHL AK batteries be used?

Yes. The SGA 60 is part of the 36 V STIHL AK System and can be used with compatible AK System batteries. A larger battery will add weight and is unlikely to be necessary for most domestic spraying jobs.

Does the STIHL SGA 60 need to be pumped by hand?

No. Its battery-powered pump generates and maintains the spraying pressure, removing the need for repeated manual pumping.

How much liquid does the STIHL SGA 60 hold?

The transparent tank has a maximum capacity of 15 litres.

Can the STIHL SGA 60 be used for weed killer and fertiliser?

It can be used to apply suitable liquid fertilisers, approved herbicides, pesticides and other compatible plant-protection products. Always check the product label, follow the manufacturer’s dilution and PPE instructions, and confirm that the liquid is suitable for use in a sprayer.

Which nozzle is best for spraying a lawn?

The double nozzle is intended for wider areas such as lawns and cultivated ground. The quadruple nozzle provides even wider coverage for intensive application over very large areas.

Is the STIHL SGA 60 suitable for professional use?

It is designed for demanding private users and semi-professional work. Customers carrying out high-volume professional spraying every day should compare it with the STIHL SGA 85 and its professional AP battery platform.

How should the sprayer be cleaned after use?

Follow the liquid manufacturer’s disposal instructions and the STIHL instruction manual. Empty and rinse the tank, hose, lance, filters and nozzles thoroughly after use, particularly before changing to a different treatment.

Important operating guidance

Only use liquids that are approved and suitable for the sprayer. Always follow the chemical or treatment manufacturer’s instructions, wear the recommended protective clothing and observe all applicable regulations. Read the STIHL instruction manual before first use.
