At the heart of the Stiga Tornado 5108 W lawn tractor is a 586 cm³ STIGA ST 550 Twin engine producing 10.8 kW of power at 2,800 rpm. This air-cooled, V-Twin four-stroke engine is designed to provide strong torque with reduced vibration and smooth running over long mowing sessions.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a hydrostatic, pedal-operated transmission. There are no manual gears to worry about – simply press the pedal to increase speed and ease off to slow down, both forwards and in reverse. This makes the Tornado 5108 W well suited to working around trees, buildings and other obstacles, especially on larger, more complex plots.
