Cuprinol Exterior Wood Preserver 5L – Colours

The Cuprinol Exterior Wood Preserver is available at Masseys in Derbyshire. It is a water based exterior wood preserver for all sawn wood. Find the product in our outdoor paints area.

Perfect for sheds, fences, cladding and more. This wood preserver can be used on previously pressure treated and tanalised wood.

Water repellent properties protect against weathering and this preserver will prevent against rot, decay and blue stain.

Cuprinol Exterior Wood Preserver Preparation

Ensure that all wooden surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free from surface dirt, loose debris and any other surface contaminants.

Bare or New Timber
Remove any surface biological growth, dirt and debris with a stiff brush, broom or scraper
Areas affected by mould and algae should be treated with a suitable garden cleaner / fungicidal wash
All rotten timber must be cut out and replaced
Any holes, gaps or splits in the surface of the wood can be filled

Previously Coated Timber
Existing surface coatings such as paint or varnish must be fully removed back to bare wood before using Cuprinol Exterior Wood Preserver.

Application
Always do a small test area before beginning any project to assess the appearance and suitability of the finish. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the tin at all times.

Please Note: Cuprinol Wood Preserver is not suitable for use on beehives and other beekeeping equipment. Timber treated with this product will not be suitable for paint, varnish or wood stain finishes. The colour of treated wood may be affected by type and condition of wood and may be modified by previous treatments.

This product is not suitable for spray application. Shake or stir thoroughly before and frequently during use to ensure an even colour.

Apply 2-3 coats or Exterior Wood Preserver with a suitable brush, in the direction of the wood grain

Allow 4 hours drying time between coats

For best coverage and protection, three coats are recommended

Finishing
Cuprinol Exterior Wood Preserver can be used as a standalone product or over-coated with a clear exterior wood finish if required.
