We bought this machine yesterday as we have far too many trees in our garden and are constantly looking for a way to clear up fallen or cut branches. The motor must be pretty powerful because I started it up and it turns out the extension lead I used only had a 10a fuse which immediately blew! Replaced that with a better fuse and we were away!
This machine chews through surprisingly thick branches with ease and condensed a lot of tree and bush waste into 1 bin liner. The 8 blades means it’s constantly chewing and pulling the branches in and although the aperture for pushing the branches in isn’t very large it did get through everything I pushed into it quick enough for my needs.
The top is removable and can be stored in the collection basket meaning it is much smaller for storage which is useful.
My only gripe would be that Bosch seem to have given zero thought to how to move the machine from place to place. They have put wheels on the back but if you leave the top piece on then you can use the handle on the back to move it around but if it’s on anything other than perfectly level ground then it wobbles about from side to side and tips over too easily. Having said that, it’s a small gripe and I don’t think there is a better machine available.
