How the 102cm sickle cutter bar works

The BM 5001 R-III uses a reciprocating cutter bar rather than a high-speed rotary blade. Moving blade sections pass against fixed fingers to cut the vegetation near its base.

This method is suitable for tall grass, nettles, meadow plants and other herbaceous vegetation. Because the material is cut rather than finely shredded, it is left behind in longer swaths and can be gathered afterwards where required.

The 102cm cutter bar uses a specially hardened ESM blade designed for durability. Edge protection helps reduce damage if the end of the bar contacts a boundary or obstacle.

Before mowing, inspect the working area and remove stones, wire, branches and other objects that could damage the blade or create a hazard.

Continuously adjustable cutting height

The cutter-bar shoes allow the working height to be adjusted continuously between approximately 25mm and 60mm.
