In our experience the Stihl FS40 is an ideal strimmer for the home owner who wants to trim edge of the lawn and long grass around fence posts or trees.
The Stihl FS40 Strimmer features a powerful 27.2 cc engine and a power output of 1.0 bhp. It has a modern appearance, convenient operation and very simple starting procedure. The number of steps needed to start the machine has been drastically reduced. The frustration of a flooded engine is virtually eliminated. New 2-stroke engine with stratified charge allows fast acceleration, low emissions, reduced fuel consumption. With bent shaft, loop handle and AutoCut mowing head ideally for trimming small areas of grass and around obstacles.
A Stihl FS40 Strimmer replacement strimmer head is the AutoCut C 5-2. Why bother with strimmer wire? The PolyCut head system is so much easier and stronger than strimmer wire. If you want a straight shaft brushcutter then look towards the Stihl FS55 Brushcutter (Comes with strimmer head) and the Stihl FS56 C-E Brushcutter (Comes with strimmer head)
