The Stihl MS181 chainsaw is recommended by Masseys for home owner use including chopping fire wood or pruning trees. The chainsaw has a 31.8 cc engine that produces 1.3 kW / 1.8 hp power output and yet it still only weighs 4.3 kg without the bar and chain. The chainsaw sits in the middle of the Stihl petrol chainsaws designed for property maintenance. The MS181 features the environmentally friendly Stihl 2-MIX engine. The Stihl 2-stroke engine with 2-MIX provides plenty of torque and yet save around 20 on fuel compared to standard Stihl 2-stroke engines.
Masseys assemble your chainsaw, PDI it and make sure it is running before you leave the store which will reduce any unwanted down time. Don’t forget, Masseys in Swadlincote, Derbyshire has one of the largest Stihl displays in the UK!

The Stihl MS181 in detail:
Advanced combustion technology
Gives lower fuel consumption and high torque across a broad rpm range.
Stihl 2-Mix engine
The chainsaw provides fuel savings of up to 20 percent compared to STIHL two-stroke engines
Anti-Vibration System
A great anti vibration system to help reduce vibrations at the handles.
Compensator
A Stihl compensator will keep the fuel to air mixture constant even when the air filter starts to deteriorate.
Tool-less filler caps
When out in the field there is no danger of loosing or not be able to refit the fuel cap and the oil cap.
Long-Life air filter system
Ensures that 80 percent of dust particles contained in the sucked in air are caught in the first stage of the system. Unlike traditional systems, these are not collected in the foam filter, but are separated and transported out into the surrounding air. In turn, this provides the elimination of cleaning intervals for the foam pre-filter.
